Currently in the garment and fashion industry often is found novelties in the technologies of clothes and textile materials. The opportunities of application of smart clothes are investigated with a view of application in public health services, medicine, for military needs, for clothes of firemen and other working clothes, and also safety and protection of children and adults. Electronic devices can be as attached or an integrated part of clothes. In creation of clothes the special attention should be given to textile materials both as conductor and the transformer of the information, and as provider of the garment properties and functions. In electronic smart clothes basically are used such parts as: energy generators, information receivers and the communication devices, conductors, contacts and connections. Various types of their integration in clothes, as well as a variety of used materials are reflected. It is concluded that smart clothes are an actual product in the industry of clothes and fashion in creation of which scientists and designers should cooperate. Collaboration should be carried out between different research areas and institutes. The development of smart clothes only begins and many researches and developments of appropriating technologies are still ahead. As the basic ways of progress can be allocated: maintenance of corresponding energy sources and other electronic devices that they are ecologically pure, convenient, effective and easy to use; development of suitable conductive materials; successful linkage of traditional textile materials and electronic parts; prevention of energy losses; development of smart clothes that don’t loss there quality due to weather and surrounding conditions; integration of the electronic parts so that do not disturb care and washing possibilities.
