Monitoring Problems of E-Services Systems

In e-services systems more and more attention is paid to quality of service. In this work the insight into main attributes of service performance is given and one of greatest and essential attributes - dependability is viewed. The main serviceability performance’s attribute availability performance is viewed particularly. All used system attributes are explained. Monitoring is proposed as the best solution to provide availability performance. Five main problems of monitoring are described: what exactly to inspect, how to inspect, how often inspect, how to recognize problem, when and how to inform user about discovered problem. It is attempt to find optimum solution of monitoring problems using example of e-service system. As the result of work, is monitoring solution with following attributes: monitoring processing module is implemented only in external access point of system, monitoring realized supplementing system without using agents, non-stop monitoring, internal diagnostic of system, flexible definition of problem identification criteria, developed user’s interface.
