In the end of 20th century, waste combustion was considered as environmentally damaging method of waste disposal. However waste combustion technologies have evolved and it is now possible to substantially reduce the amount of harmful substances in emissions. The complleted combustion of largely organic municipal waste can reduce its volume by more than 80% and its weight by 75%. In the future waste combustion can become an important source of enrgy.
