One of the most topical problems in Latvia during last years is providing of equal development of regions, because there are essential diference between regions in the socio-economical aspect. There are many questions, that must be solved - What does it mean - equal development of regions? How to evaluate increase of distinctions between Riga and other regions? How to evaluate competitiveness and development of regions? How to choose indicators, that will characterize competitiveness of regions? What is necessary - to promote development of less developed regions or to stimulate more competitive regions?
