Evolution of software development process, increasing complexity of software systems and appearance of necessity to construct the software systems in the manner offered by OMG’s initiative Model Driven Architecture arise developers to pay great attention to evolution of CASE tools for software development. This in turn set cause off an explosion for an appearance of a new wave (or new generation) of such CASE tools. Authors of the paper try to investigate a variety of CASE tools developed under an impact of MDA growing progress and to answer on the question about the difference between Model Driven Architecture and Model Driven Development in the context of automatic capabilities has to be provided as a means for software development. As an example for demonstration how it is possible to get a set of tools (so called tool chain) for development of software systems under the framework of MDA, the projection of twohemisphere approach for object-oriented software development into authors’ developed component model of MDA is offered in the paper.
