Synthesis of Methoxybenzylideneamino-3,4-Dihydroquinazolinones

Reactions of 3-amino-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-4-one with di- and trimethoxybenzaldehydes lead to new unknown in literature di- and trimethoxybenzylideneamino-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-4-ones. Reactions were carried out in refluxing ethanol or dimethylformamide. 3-Amino-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-4-one was obtained from 2-aminobenzoic acid hydrazide and trietylorthoformate. 2-Aminobenzoic acid hydrazide was synthesized from isatoic anhydride and hydrazine hydrate.
