It is given insight into possibilities of using raw materials both as base and as additives in eco-ceramic material development with different aspect of application and for improving technological process of such material development by reduction of firing temperature in connection with clay (dolomite as well) resources widespread in Latvia. Following application fields of mentioned materials are discussed: using of crude clay for compression of waste deposit area, using of partly dehydrated clay for sorbtion of Cr3+, 6+, Zn2+, Cu2+ ions from galvanic waters, for development of pore containing high temperature ceramics from mixed compositions to apply it as filtration/purification material, as well as to reduce sintering/firing temperature of high temperature dense ceramics. It is given insight also into possibility of using chemistry and technology of geopolymers for obtaining of “lightweight” building ceramics at reduced temperatures.
