Rare Attractors and the Method of Complete Bifurcation Groups in Nonlinear Dynamics and the Theory of Catastrophes
10th Conference on Dynamical Systems Theory and Applications 2009
Mihails Zakrževskis

The paper illustrates the application of the method of complete bifurcation groups (MCBG) and the concept of rare attractors (RA) for nonlinear dynamical systems. Some new regular and chaotic RA have been obtained for archetypical driven nonlinear systems with polynomial and piecewise-linear characteristics and for a rotor system. The possibility of widening of the theory of catastrophes using the concepts of RA also discussed.
