In this paper we analyzed the work of voluntary fire forces, suspended this work can be divided into two groups: the first - voluntary fire units, which work on preventing and extinguishing fires and the second - voluntary fire units, which operate not only at preventing and extinguishing fires, but and also take a direct part in the elimination of all accidents, as well as in disaster management. Taking into account the limited financial resources of the Republic of Latvia, is to recognize that the organization and training of volunteer fire groups will not only allow more efficient use of funds of fire protection of the republic, but also increase the level of fire safety in general.
