Method and Algorithm for the Reliability Estimation of Medium-Voltage Urban Distribution Networks

A new method and its algorithm are presented, which allow the reliability of 6, 10, 20 kV distribution networks to be estimated. The paper describes the following: 1) the methods for reliability estimation in general; 2) a network model; 3) a load model; 4) the formula and algorithm for calculation of reliability criteria. An example of the calculation of network reliability criteria is given. The presented method, which is based on the LDM-SG software, can be applied to dynamic optimization of the development of real medium-voltage networks.
