For many centuries man has been traveling over the worlds seas at ever increasing speeds. The excessive power requirment of high speed marine craft is mainly caused by viscous drag, well over 50% of the drag is caused by water friction. The obvious solution is to minimize water contact. This approach works for ekranoplane- a boat with wings, that cruises just above the water surface, it is floating on a cushion of high- pressure air between it’s wing and the water surface
