The concept of atlas cartosemiotics is a new one in cartography and cartosemiotics. In this article, the following points are considered: atlas cartosemiotics as a new teaching subject within the framework of applied cartosemiotics, its place in the system “atlas production – atlas use”, its structure, and a new method of atlas analyzing (with their informational load and semiotic potential).
