Pareto Evolution in Numerical System
2010
Aivars Šulcs, Anita Geriņa-Ancāne

The article gives research results on creating innovative engineering product relevant problems and their illustration by Pareto diagrams. The scope of problems involves training of students and their participation in the technical research. It has been discovered that they unwillingly participate in it as a study programs do not envisage compulsory study-research subjects. There is not sufficient information on research work subjects too. The Baltech students of RTU consider that they could be the best candidates for participation in research and elaboration of innovative consumer goods. The article analyses a creation of variants of innovative products and foundations of selection methodology. The method of functional decomposition and synthesis is considered to be the best. The selection process of product variants is usually divided into two stages – the first stage involves rough discarding of variants and the next stage renders a precise assessment of remaining. Industrial manufacturing recommends the products with the best properties – the largest sum of goals which has been calculated taking into consideration the compliance of the products with the user’s criteria and the technical assessments by experts. The article analyses the problem of achieving a numerical assessment by experts which the authors offer to solve with the help of fuzzy logic concept
