The author analyses the current problems regarding the acquirement of professional competence of adults in companies. As employers are not anymore concerned only with the capacity or ability of employees, the article includes analysis of several views on defining professional competence. During the process of the acquirement of an adult’s professional competence it is important to take into consideration the individuality of the adult’s age , prior learning and life experience, that could assist or hinder the teaching process. The author analyses the main type of the adult’s occupation- professional activity. In this article the learning process in a company is featured. The author, on the basis of her pedagogical practise, highlights the relevant problems which are revised in the content model of pedagogical process of activity approach. In the process of the acquirement of an adult’s professional competence the problems lie in the activities of the faculty or teaching, that are related to insufficient pedagogical and psychological knowledge and ability of the faculty or superior of the company’s teaching activities. The problems arise also in the activities of employees or learning related to the age of adults, insufficient motivation, the culture of a particular company etc, as well mutual communication or interaction.
