Abstract In current research was obtained porous hydroxyapatite (HAp) ceramic using pore forming agent NH4HCO3. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of selected NH4HCO3 fractions on the HAp ceramic microstructure. The porosity of the obtained ceramics was determined using Archimedes method. The scanning electron microscopy was used for the evaluation of microstructure.
