Reactive Power Compensation on the Interconnected Transmission Line

The paper considers the task of reactive power compensation in the tie lines of interconnected power systems with application of FACTS devices, which is based on the Series Capacitor Bank (SCB) in parallel with Phase Shifting Transformer (PST). The mathematical model of the tie line Estonian EPS 330kV-Valmera 330kV of Latvian PS with SCBPST devices on the intermediate substation TSIRGULINA was developed, the characteristics of the regime parameters from PST angle variations were determined and the possibility flexible control for 330kV HVTL with SCBPST devices is shown.
