words – it is clothing with integrated electronics that does not disturb the wearer of the apparel. Therefore, during the development of the smart clothing, it is important to consider design and arrangement of electronic elements in order to get functional, comfortable and ergonomic layout of electronic components in smart garment. In this paper arrangement of electronic part of smart children jacket is analyzed, searching ways of improvement. Electronic elements were integrated in a way that makes it possible to remove them before garment washing. For this purpose, a removable layer for electronic components was developed. This paper describes the prototype, its layers and offers several alternative ways of design and arrangement of electronic elements, which are based on ergonomic design guidelines, using principles of external and internal stress zoning in garments. Five variants of arrangement are offered , which are compared using efficiency evaluation, based on a number of criteria. Each alternative has advantages and drawbacks. However, after evaluation of the given alternatives, the best arrangement, according to the defined subjective criteria weights, turned out to be a removable layer in a back part and an external pocket for electronic elements. This arrangement enables one to reduce dimensions of electronic elements. Therefore more compact design of electronic elements is created and the costs are reduced. Besides that isolation is provided, which protects the electronic part against moisture and impacts, and child’s body against discomfort and possible impacts.
