The given research is devoted questions of legal regulation of the insurance market of Latvia from the moment of the introduction into the European Union. The Baltic States, entering the European Union, became a component of the uniform insurance market which essence consists in the general insurance space for participants of the market in all territory of EU, and also the European economic space. In a basis of the uniform European insurance legislation have laid down more than 300 instructions accepted by Ministerial council of EU on problems of insurance business. Actual formation of the uniform European insurance market there has passed three stages of introduction of instructions of regulation of the insurance market, mentioning questions introduction of freedom of formation of the insurance organizations and harmonization of the insurance legislation of the EU countries. The main element of the uniform European insurance legislation is the rule of the uniform license providing that the license which has been given out by one of EU Member States, is valid for all EU countries. The insurance companies are authorized to be rendered the services through the affiliated organizations, agencies, representations, by means of freedom of granting of services in all territory of Europe a simple recognition of the fact of an accessory to any EU country.
