With development of an information technology there are increasing possibilities for rationalization of use of manpower; Internet use gives the chance to lower costs on servicing. E-insurance is a vital topic for research as in the market of Latvia the given type of service has appeared rather recently – in September, 2006. A research objective is to predict prospects of development of electronic commerce in insurance in the market of Latvia. In given article value of an information technology in the insurance market, rates of development of electronic commerce, and as advantages of use of the given channel of sales of insurance products is considered.
