Measurement of Economic Stability: Latvian Insurance Company Example

The authors research economic stability on the basis of Latvian insurance companies of non-life insurance for the period from 2005 to 2009 years. The authors suggested reliability assessment basing on creation of insurance companies rating which formed only on public information availability.To improve the quality of rating, the authors conducted correlation analysis of financial indicators to assess heir validity for assessing the stability of insurance company. The authors suggest an algorithm for rating creation using statistical methods (taxonometric method).
