Raksts un referāts veltīts vācu reformpedagogam Hugo Gaudigam (1860-1923) un viņa kontaktiem ar pedagogiem Baltijas valstīs. H. Gaudigs pazina personīgi daudzus Baltijas, tostarp Latvijas pedagogus, pie viņa Leipcigā hospitēja Latvijas skolnieki. Īpaša loma kontaktu stiprināšanā bija viņa pēdējam ārzemju ceļojumam 1922. gadā, kas atveda pedagogu un viņa līdzstrādniekus uz Rīgu.
