Owing to the growing demand for wild cherry wood in the world’s market and Latvia, its cultivation for harvesting has been initiated, and studies of the properties of wild cherry wood growing in Latvia are under way. At work arrived trees of wild cherry Prunus avium L from different stand of Latvia. For research used wild cherry wood from 19 till 20,5 m high, in the diameter from 27,0 till 32,0 cm (at the 1,3 m high) and ages from 31till 43 year. For studies to perform of 4 height of stem (butt-end, ¼, ½, ¾).The wild cherry wood realized researches of different properties, such as morphological, physical, mechanical, technological, optical, thermophysical and chemical. Obtained results allow prognose, that wild cherry wood growing in Latvia are competitive in the world’s market.
