In Latvia brick kilns are fired with natural gas. It is well
known that the brick firing is an energy intensive process
requiring large quantities of fossil fuels. Therefore, research
and comparison of alternative energy sources is necessary and
essential. Bio-methane and wind energy are analyzed and
compared from environmental aspect as potential alternative
energy sources (a term used to refer to any energy source other
than fossil fuels) for brick industry in the work.
