Due to their universality, ion-plasma methods for depositing protective decorative coatings are becoming more widely used in modern industry. Some of the advantages of ion-plasma methods are high controllability of the process; possibility of obtaining chemical compounds and alloys of the required composition including films made from heat-resistant materials; better adhesion of films to the surface, ets. The choice of Ti-Al-N base can be explained by physicochemical properties of materials: titanium is one of the most corrosion-resistant metals; aluminum has good adhesion properties. Chemical activity aluminum allows to create compounds with practically all metals. Protective decorative coatings based on Ti-Al-N that have good decorative and protective properties were obtained. Coating color ranges from red-purple to shades of gold. The influence of chemical composition on the change of coating decorative properties such as color and reflectivity was studied. The given work considers the investigation in decorative properties of the previously obtained Ti-Al-N base coatings as a results of heating within the range from 100 to 550C.
