This paper describes the capability and potential of using the micro class Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for forest monitoring. The paper has been developed with the means of UAV AERTI, manufactured in Riga Technical University and equipped with the electromotor, thus considerably minimizing the ecological impact, comparing with combustion propulsion equipped. There are many resembling ways of acquiring the data about fire forest conditions, however, in areas with the dynamic process there is a necessity to have real-time picture. Accurate fire information can be of vital importance, especially when such situation has begin aggravated
