Recovery of the Waste Heat by Large Capacity Heat Pumps for Riga City District Heating System

Project plan anticipates the increase of efficiency in district heating (DH) cogeneration heat plants (CHPs) through the introduction of waste heat recovery by means of large scale absorbtion heat pumps implementation , as well as extra heat generation possibility for Municipal water company heat recovery from waste water with consecutive supply of district heating and cooling. As main conclusion of given paper ; it is profitable to equip cogeneration plants with absorbtion (instead of compression type) heat pumps / chillers.
