The Electricity Sector Modernization Directions for the Development of Latvian National Economy

The article is intended to evaluate the situation of the Latvian electricity sector and suggest a direction for its modernization in order to develop national economy and supply consumers with the resource, taking into consideration the European Union's common objectives in this sector. As a result of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the modern Latvian electricity sector can be transformed not evolutionary but revolutionary, reaching the highest level of efficiency for both the producer and the consumer.
