Heterogeneous Catalyst for Production of Biodiesel

The objective of this research was to investigate Na2SiO3 catalytic activity in rapeseed oil transesterification reaction. The best result (98% yield of biodiesel) was gained through batch reaction on constant temperature rate of 65°C using 1:7,5 oil/methanol molar ratio, 3% mass of catalyst to oil total weight and steering speed about 200-300 rpm. <200 μm particles of 2h calcined at 400°C Na2SiO3 shows the best activity in transesterification reaction.
