Acrylic bone cement of tridimencional polymer structure on the base of PMMA-ethyl methacrylate-tri(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate composite has been modified by introduction of optimal amount of methacrylic acid together with (meth)acrylates having longer side chain (hexyl acrylate or 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate). The cements developed have better setting parameters as compared with PMMA-MMA cement. The release of organic substances from specimens of bone cements has been evaluated by permanganate oxydation of extracts. The sorption of chosen dyes was larger on the surface of modified cements. The cements have been expected to show better biocompatibility. -
