Pure calcium deficient hydroxyapatite (CDHAp) and calcium deficient hydroxyapatite substituted with strontium and/or fluorine (FCDHAp, SrCDHAp and SrFCDHAp) were synthesized through modified aqueous precipitation method and characterized with different instrumental methods. For the first time SrFCDHAp was obtained via aqueous precipitation method. Synthesized calcium phosphates were introduced into developed modelpaste and evaluated their potential application for preventive dentistry. Tooth enamel remineralization in vitro were performed. The review of literature covers sources published from 1970 to 2016. The review includes the biological development, structure and chemical composition of tooth enamel and dentine, a summary of commercial toothpastes and dentifrices, containing different calcium phosphates. The mechanisms of in vitro remineralization of enamel are described. The review contains insight in the literature attributed to synthesis of SrFCDHAp. The experimental section of PhD thesis includes description of experimental methods and procedures, and results section covers characterization of bovine tooth enamel and obtained CDHAp, FCDHAp, SrCDHAp and SrFCDHAp. The composition and development of calcium phosphate modelpaste is described. The remineralization in vitro of enamel treated with calcium phosphate modelpastes is carried out with X-ray diffractometry, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and profilometry. The Doctoral thesis is written in Latvian. It contains 137 pages, 75 images, 22 tables, 168 references and 1 annex.
