Advanced biodiesel is economically competitive and sustainable. New technologies should be elaborated to obtain high quality biodiesel from vegetable oil refining byproducts as soapstock. Sodium methoxide is suitable to achieve biodiesel with excellent FAME content, when esterified soapstock extract contains up to 4 wt% FFA, but to make process beneficial and achieve better yields, the content of FFA should be as little as possible.
