Biodegradable and bio-based melt-extruded binary and ternary polymer blends of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), polylactic acid (PLA), and poly(butylene succinate-co-adipate) (PBSA), stand out as sustainable alternatives to traditional petroleum-based plastics for a wide range of consumer applications. This study is a preliminary investigation of the impact fracture behavior for the blends. Using the Ternary plot or Gibss triangle the thirteen binary and ternary biopolyester blends were used. The impact testing method employed in this study includes the notched Charpy impact test. In addition, tensile tests, dynamical mechanical testing, and density measurements were prepared.
