Corrosion of Porous Stone Materials Caused by Salts
2009
Ronalds Lūsis, Inta Vītiņa, Linda Krāģe

Corrosion processes of porous stone materials caused by salts could not be explained with one single mechanism of corrosion. Not only the type of salt but also the presence of water and water vapor as well as properties of material it self – pore size and distribution plays an important role. Initialization and intensity of the development of damages of porous stone materials caused by salts is mainly determined by the alterations in relative humidity and temperature of environment.
