Simulation of Desalination Processes Using Lime Based Mortars

The desalination process of experimental model-samples salinated with NaCl, Na2SO4, NaNO3 solutions were simulated by application of lime based mixturesfor three weeks. The migration process of moisture and aggressive salts from salinated object to lime mortar were studied. Amount of ions of soluble salts in the different depth of desalinated stone and lime plaster were determined by chemical and XRD analysis.
