MSCR analysis of bitumenous mixture of bitumen penetration grade 70/100 and rubber 20%
Rita Bērziņa, Aina Bernava, Remo Merijs-Meri

Multiple Stress Creep Recovery (MSCR) test of bituminous mixture of bitumenous mixture bitumen penetration grade 70/100 with rubber 20% was done using Test Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) Anton Paar RheoCompass™ equipment, according AASHTO T 350-14 Standard Method. This test method covers the determination of percent recovery and no recoverable creep compliance of asphalt binders by means of the Multiple Stress Creep Recovery (MSCR) test. The MSCR test is performed at 58 ° C temperature. 60 cycles per stress level: shear stress loading 0.1 kPa and 3.2 kPa for 1- second loading and 9 second rest period were applayed. The percent recovery value is intended to provide a means for determining the elastic response and stress dependence of modified and unmodified asphalt binders. Average percent recovery Load level 0.1 kPa R_0.1 = 91.46 % Load level 3.2 kPa R_3.2 = 44.40 % Percent difference of recovery Load levels 0.1 kPa and 3.2 kPa R_diff = 51.45 % Average non-recoverable creep compliance Load level 0.1 kPa J_nr(0.1) = 0.0310 1/kPa Load level 3.2 kPa J_nr(3.2) = 0.3215 1/kPa Percent difference of non-recoverable creep compliance Load levels 0.1 kPa and 3.2 kPa J_nr_diff = 938.45 % FAILED at 58.00 °C according to AASHTO M 332-14.
