Latvian Insurance Market’ Demand and Supply: Opportunities and Challenges

The purpose of this research is to increase effectiveness of functioning of insurance market using Latvian insurance company's data analysis and to supply the insurance products. This is a worthwhile exercise given the important results of the existing performance measures used in the insurance market. Moreover, this model can incorporate the important social function that insurers fulfil and provide powerful managerial implications. Analysis begins with an overview of the structure and performance of the insurance market. Author is interested in how this market is structured in terms of the number and size distribution of insurers, entry and exit conditions, insurers’ market concentration and the types of policies purchased by consumers and how this structure has changed. In this publication author will show most important conclusions about Latvia’s insurance market structure, because research will be continued.
