The aim of the scientific paper is to analyze aspects and peculiarities of the development of the green infrastructure that is considered as one of the challenges of the modern urban dynamic growth. The research hypothesis – development of the green infrastructure providing unification of the existing natural areas and human settlements is a strategically important process for the creation of the ecologically friendly urban environment as well as for the satisfaction of the socio-economic need of the city dwellers without harming the nature. The main results of the study are related to the analysis of ecological aspects of the modern urban environment and the process of the development of the green infrastructure.
