The Conceptual Framework for Integration of Intelligent Tutoring and Knowledge Management Systems in Education Settings

Requirements of the information age causes new challenges for educators at universities – necessity to change teaching and learning process to ensure that students have skills of effective turning information into knowledge which is prerequisite that graduates from universities will become so called knowledge workers. The paper attracts educators’ attention to the potential of integration of intelligent tutoring and knowledge assessment systems with organizational and personal knowledge management systems. The conceptual framework for integration of such kinds of systems based on multiagent paradigm is described. Implementation aspects of two systems (part of the framework) – intelligent tutoring system MIPITS and intelligent knowledge assessment system IKAS are discussed briefly.
