Usage Possibilities of Latvian Hemp Fibre Purini

Natural fibre textiles become more popular in all world because of their ecological compatibility and ease of obtaining.Hemp is plant with wide usage possibilities, so this plant affects many industrial spheres – agriculture, textile and food industry.More than 10 different foreign hemp varieties are grown in Latvia. But Latvian farmers and scientists have selected local line Purini (Pūriņi). So now the aim is to compare local variety mechanical properties to several other foreign hemp varieties to conclude if the mechanical properties is good for technical textile production.
