Promoting the Development of Industrial Symbiosis in Latvia

Within the context of industrial symbiosis, a sub-field of industrial ecology, the links between industrial companies are compared to natural ecosystems as if information, energy and resource flows between industrial companies would be organized in an effort to imitate the resource and material flows in the nature.Considering the positive effects that industrial symbiosis can provide, such strategy should be nationally promoted. Several recommendations for the promotion of industrial symbiosis in Latvia are given.
