The research focuses on the Lithuanian pavilion, which represented Lithuania as a country of amber in the “World Expo 2012” held in South Korea. Scientific problem of this paper belongs to the type of applied arts and is of practical approach. The paper explores local and global tendencies of architecture, taking into account the history of World Expo architecture and analysing the Lithuanian pavilion design process. These tendencies resulted in main ideas and objectives (including a narrative of space, national identity, etc.) which had an important role in architecture and could be more or less adopted in the future exhibition design.
