At present the main methods for the bismuth tungstate Bi2WO6 nanopowder synthesis mostly are used solid state synthesis at high temperatures or hydrothermal synthesis. More attractive method is sol-gel combustion method which is attractive as low temperature method. Bismuth tungstate is prepared with modified sol-gel combustion method from the appropriate bismuth nitrate salt solution in water and tungstic acid in metal molar ratio Bi:W=2:1, mixed with organic fuel (ethanol, glycine, ethylene glycol) and nitric acid.
