Adherence of hepatitis B virus like particles to silica (SiO2) nanoparticles was explored for immunomodulation purposes by optical absorbance measurements, transmission electron microscopy, fluorescence microscopy and vaccination of Balb/c mice. The results suggested that SiO2 nanoparticles could be considered as a promising material for improving efficiency of vaccines against hepatitis B viral disease.
