In this paper, we will propose the metamodeling approach for designing of roofing sheets using advantages of the stressed skin action. We will start by introducing current problem and methods that may be utilized to solve it. Then we will begin discussing construction of shallow roof in terms of both stability and stiffness by solution of mixed shell-beam FE models. We will focus on the combinations of loads on the structure in accordance to relevant Eurocodes, with special emphasis on the lateral wind loads. Next, we will show the effective parameterization of sheeting cross section. For the purpose of computational time reduction, we will create metamodels utilizing recently developed original code KEDRO. Finally, we will perform the optimization: the cross section shape of corrugated sheets subjected to appropriate load combination is obtained by global stochastic search procedure to minimize maximal displacement of structure. We will compare proposed solution with standardized trapezoidal sheeting
