Introduction to Interval Methods in Automatic Control
Abo Akademi, Department of Chemical Engineering, Process Control Laboratory. Report 88-3 1988
Jurijs Merkurjevs

Interval approach to Automatic Control problems solving is presented. It may be used, when uncertainties, which must be taken into account during control system design and analysis, have an interval character: only intervals of their possible meanings are known. Some basic facts from Interval Analysis are presented. Interval Analysis is a special mathematical apparatus for solving interval problems. Two types of Automatic Control interval problems are considered: (1) Identification of control objects with interval disturbances, and (2) Automatic control of objects with interval parameters.
