There is need to operate concrete in high heat for the different industry sectors. It requires highly heat resistant material such as silicon carbide (SiC) powder as the additive to the concrete matrix. SiC is mainly used as a refractory material, as abrasive, highly wear resistant and in various corrosionresistant parts. SiC powder is obtained in milling process by disintegrator using residues material of the used heating elements from the manufacturing furnaces. In the scientific paper there are specimens of concrete with and without SiC powder as the additive. Other raw materials of the concrete matrix are cement, cenospheres (CS), plasticizer, water and mixture of its combination. This paper consists the research of the concrete mixture continued with the characteristics and analysis (compressive strength) of the hardened samples through results of direct measurement. The experimental part is complemented with the surface analysis by the optical microscope. There are results of 7 various recipes of concrete’s mixture that determine whether it (7 recipes) is sufficient to find optimal amount of SiC powder required to ensure efficient and effective improvements in the concrete characteristics could be used in the industry.
