Two-stepmicrowavesinteringwasappliedinthisstudytoprocessdensenano-structuredbioceramics coupledwithimprovedmechanicalproperties.Thedecreaseintheaveragegrainsizetothenanolevel resultingfromdecreasingthesinteringtemperatureto850 1C duringtwo-stepmicrowavesintering, led toanincreaseinthefracturetoughnesscomparedtoconventionallytwo-stepsinteredbioceramic. The two-stepmicrowavesinteringcouldbeapromisingtechniquefortheprocessingofnano- structuredHAPbioceramics.
