In this research, the shear and tensile strength of birch plywood edge-to-surface were investigated with specially made specimens for determination of these properties for narrow glued joint. Various thicknesses (4,0; 6,5; 9,0) of plywood and the fiber orientation of surface layer (0° and 90) were investigated. The average results showed that shear strength is 7.11 MPa and the tensile strength is 3.39 MPa. It was found that the orientation of plywood surface layer has minor influence on the shear and tensile strength of edge-to-surface joint.
