The biomass gasification process is a relatively new method for conversion of solid fuel into syngas. Therefore this process currently is being actively investigated. In the first part of this paper, the latest studies on the gasification process investigation are presented and analyzed. Results show that the gasification process depends on many factors. Most part of the papers present separately the effect of each factor on the process. However, such parameters of the gasification process as syngas calorific value or composition should be presented in the form of a function of an independent variable group. An experimental research method was selected to investigate the gasification process. A laboratory stand was created for the experimental research of the gasification process, and it is described in the second part of the paper. Planning of the experiment was performed as well. Manipulated factor values were acquired as a result of each run to determinate the effect of the equivalence ratio, fuel moisture content and fuel consumption.
