The article is devoted to military mobility in the future. The historical overview gives an insight into the development of the military mobility system. The article deals with the main factors that will determine the choice of the form of mobility in the future, such as fossil fuels and urbanized environment. Hybrid - electric drive is recommended as a possible basis for future mobile platforms. The conclusions deal with advantages and disadvantages relating to electric drive. The main weaknesses that hamper the widespread adoption of electric drive in both the military and civilian sectors are the high price of electrical elements and large dimensions and weight of energy storage equipment.
